Goodman Nash has moved to an employee ownership model ahead of our 30th anniversary.
Established in Wiltshire in 1994, Goodman Nash sparked the business rates audit industry in the UK by identifying savings for clients across the country.
Over the years we have invested in our in-house technology and expertise to allow us to now successfully recover over £10 million in client savings each year.
Now as we enter our 30th year, the people at the heart of Goodman Nash are taking over the business through an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) model.
EOTs are seen as an effective way to reward loyal, long-term employees for their service, allowing them to become stakeholders in the company.
The decision to move to the EOT model was proposed by former Board Directors Andy Wheeler and Alan Weston, who established the business in the early 90s.
With the backing of the company’s Executive Committee, the paperwork was signed on 10th November 2023 and a new Board of Directors appointed.
Alan Weston has now become Chief Executive Officer, working alongside Chief Financial Officer Ian Wixon and Chief Operating Officer Lewis Rendle.
Alan Weston said, “After many successful years it is only fitting that Goodman Nash passes the baton on to those who work hard to ensure the company achieves its ambitions.
“We have an extremely talented team with a wide-ranging set of skills, all of whom now have the opportunity to take the company forward and continue to blaze a trail in our industry.
“I would like to congratulate them all as new owners and it’s reassuring to know that Goodman Nash is in the safest hands possible – those of its employees.”
Andy Wheeler added, “It has been the dedication and attitude of our staff over the years that has ensured the longevity of Goodman Nash. 30 years in business these days is no mean feat, and it’s testament to all the hard work from the entire team.
“Whilst the structure of the company has changed, its ethos; to provide comprehensive, honest and straightforward property tax advice to our clients, remains the same.”
Megan Mundy, Property Research Analyst at Goodman Nash since 2016, says she is proud to be an owner of the firm and excited for the future.
She said, “Goodman Nash moving to an employee ownership model is a brilliant outcome for all of us. The company has been very successful over the years and now the onus is on us to ensure this success continues for our clients and for the company.
“We have a dedicated team here, many of whom have been at Goodman Nash for several years, so it’s exciting to see everyone rewarded with a stake in the company’s future as we embrace this new era.”
