Goodman Nash Joins the Business Rates Reform Discussion

In Autumn’s last budget, it was announced that the UK’s business rates system would undergo a consultation process to discuss priority areas of reform. These reforms are intended to protect the high street, support investment, and make the system more fit for the 21st century. All interested parties and stakeholders were invited to participate in the discussion to create a fairer system.

As a team of dedicated auditors, chartered surveyors, and business rates experts, we were keen to participate in the discussion. Lewis Rendle, our Property Director, went to represent us.

Naturally, most of the discussion centred around supporting UK business, and we were encouraged by the discussion points and how the conversation was driven.

There will be more discussion sessions next year, and we hope to participate again. We were hugely honoured to be part of this first group. It’s important to us that we represent the businesses we service and strive for a fairer business rates system for all. More updates to follow.
